Unity of invention

A patent application may relate to one invention only or to a group of inventions so linked as to form a single general inventive concept. If the requirement of unity of invention is found not met, applicant will be informed and be given six months to file divisional applications or to amend the application so that the requirements for unity are met.

Each divisional application shall have the same date of filing as the initial application provided that their subject matter remains within the scope of same. Where priority is claimed for the initial application, each divisional application will benefit from the priority right or rights claimed for the initial application.
